HEAD OF UNIT

Matron Hamidah binti Abdullah (U44)

 

INTRODUCTION

The responsibility of this unit is to supervise nurses in terms of providing service, training and welfare. In 2008, there were 1,252 nurses being assigned to various departments, wards and clinics. Statistically, there are 979 trained nurses (U29) and six nurse supervisors (Area Matrons).  

The main objective of the unit is to provide high quality services through well planned, efficient and effective activities which satisfy clients.

 

VISION

To become a dynamic and positive responsive health team whereby every nurse is able to provide efficient and effective professional service and encourage community’s awareness in total health quality. 

PHILOSOPHY

1.    We believe that patient deserves to receive treatment from qualified, experienced and professional nurses. 

2.    We believe that patient deserves to be treated to achieve best health care.

3.    We believe that patient deserves to know the treatment plan designed for the patient and their family.

4.    We believe that nursing unit is a conducive learning environment for trainee nurses and other paramedic staff in line with the medical department.

 MISSION

  • To provide high quality treatment and cooperation with medical professionals in ensuring optimum health standard
  • To cooperate with clients and communities in achieving high quality health standard
  • To promote health, involving in preventive, curative and rehabilitative to individuals, families and communities
  • To provide treatment based on scientific evidence in line with research and development activities
  • To maintain profesionalism by improving competency level alongside latest technology.

OBJECTIVE

To provide high quality nursing services by focusing on holistic treatment involving physical, emotional, social and religious values.

CLIENT CHARTER

1.       Patients will be treated fairly

2.       Patients will be bedded within  20 minutes after admission

3.       Patients will be informed two hours prior to discharge

4.       Patients will be equipped with the following prior to discharge:

·         Appointment information

·         Hospital charges

·         Referral ( if necessary )

·         Medication

·         Advice

MAIN SERVICES

1.1               Inpatient Treatment

Provide services for inpatients in various disciplines, namely General Clinic, General Surgery, Orthopaedic, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Paediatrics,  Psychiatry, Intensive Care and Operation Theatre.

1.2               Outpatient Treatment

Providing services for outpatients in Specialist Clinics and Emergency & Trauma Department

 

1.3         Clinical Support Service

·         Sterile Material Supply Unit (UBBS )        

·         Infection Control Unit

1.3          Other Services – Counseling service, Health Education and Continual Quality Improvement Activities (cooperation with Quality Unit)

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

  • Daily Practices of Nursing are carried out according to SOP

·         Nursing Audit Activities and Customer Satisfaction Survey to improve quality service.
