 VISION

To provide an excellent, efficient and patient-friendly emergency medical service

 

MISSION

To provide emergency medical care at the earliest possible time to save lives and prevent complications whilst committed to the needs of the community and high standards for emergency medical care.

 

OBJECTIVES

  • To coordinate the functions of the Malaysian Emergency Call Centre ( MECC ) for Kedah state
  • To provide pre-hospital care and emergency ambulance service by trained personnel to ensure patient receives appropriate medical care
  • To provide prompt emergency care to all emergency cases according to the level of priority in the hospital
  • To coordinate and provide One-Stop Crisis Centre ( OSCC ) service in a holistic approach
  • To manage and coordinate casualties in crisis and disaster

 

CLIENT CHARTER

  • Ambulance response is activated within 5 minutes after receiving emergency call 999
  • Patients in Critical Zone are attended by Medical Officer within 5 minutes
  • Patients in Semi Critical Zone are attended by Medical Officer within 30 minutes

 

TRIAGE SYSTEM

Registration for treatment in the Emergency & Trauma Department will be based on Clinical Emergency Triage System. It is a system to sort and prioritize patients according to their criticality. As no numbering system is used, the staff can provide urgent, comprehensive and appropriate care in life threatening condition.

 

Red Zone

Critical cases will be attended and treated urgently in accordance to the procedure. The patient with life threatening or limb threatening condition will be resuscitated accordingly.

 

Yellow Zone

Non critical and non life threatening cases will be attended in Yellow Zone.

 

Green Zone

Walk- in patient without any life threatening condition or do not need urgent treatment will be treated in Green Zone except for asthma patient (treated in Asthma Bay).
